ENGL2600: Survey of Literature Western World I (Dr. Aaij): Finding Books

Books shelved on the 3rd through 6th floors can be checked out using your AUM ID card at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor. These books are listed in the Library's online catalog.  Use the catalog search box below to do a simple search on your topic or go directly to the online catalog for more search options.

To locate books through the online catalog, conduct a title search using the phrase of your title (e.g., Sir Gawain and the Green Knight; Gilgamesh; Oedipus Tyrannus; Othello; The Aeneid; The Lais of Marie de France; The Inferno; or The Song of Roland)  and then click on search to pull up title information.  From the bibliographic information, you can click on the subject links and do searches for the appropriate subject areas.

To locate books through the online catalog, conduct a subject search using the phrase "Sophocles -- History and criticism" and then click on the subject headings there to pull up title information.  Note: A number of titles will be e-books (electronic books).  These may be browsed and are not required to be checked out.  Whenever you note a call number that ends in the designation eb, this is an e-book.  You may access the book by clicking on the link by the heading "Web Link."

NetLibrary contains over 50,000 electronic books. These books are listed in the Library's online catalog or you can search the database separately.  Some of the books in NetLibrary are not appropriate for university level research, so be sure to examine each for its appropriateness for your assignment.
